Los Osos Grocery Outlet Kicks off ‘Independence from Hunger’ Campaign; marking the Sixteenth Annual companywide effort

Los Osos Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, the extreme-value grocery retailer, today launched its 16th Annual Independence from Hunger® Food Drive, to combat food insecurity and support families in vulnerable and disadvantaged communities throughout America. From June 24th through July 31st, Los Osos Grocery Outlet is teaming up with Los Osos Cares, to collect food and cash donations in-store.
This year’s campaign underscores the company’s long-standing commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. Since its founding in 1946, Grocery Outlet has emphasized local partnerships and community support – values that continue to define the Independent Operators who run each store today.
Each independently operated Grocery Outlet store is committed to giving back to their community and have partnered locally to provide families with nutritious food. The company estimates its business model can save shoppers 30-60% over conventional grocery stores, on average.
Customers can make a difference by visiting Los Osos Grocery Outlet and participating in one of these easy steps:
- Give $5, get $5. Donate $5 or more in a single transaction in-store or online and you will receive a coupon for $5 off a future purchase of $25 or more.
- Pick up a pre-made bag that is filled with an assortment of groceries selected by the local food agency and then place it in a collection bin at the front of the store.
- Make a monetary donation in-store at the register. Donations will benefit that store’s local food agency partner.
The Los Osos Grocery Outlet store is independently owned and operated by Malia & Duane Cross who are committed to giving back to the local community. This year, the national campaign will span over 500 locations and build on Grocery Outlet’s past Independence from Hunger efforts that have raised over 30 million dollars to date, across America.
