The Red Barn Community Music Series presents old time fiddler Casy Meikle, with Brock Rovenstine and Austin Derryberry, of Middle Tennessee in concert. Born and raised in Nipomo, Casy moved to Tennessee after finishing school and quickly immersed himself in the region’s rich string band tradition. In 2008 he and friends formed the Hogslop String Band and performed together nationally for the next 8 years. He has also performed extensively with friend and mentor, Thomas Maupin, at countless festivals including: The National Folk Fest, The Festival of American Fiddle Tunes, TedX, The Swannanoa Gathering, and at the Library of Congress for Maupin’s 2017 acceptance of the NEA Heritage Fellowship Award. The concert is backthe Red Barn at the Los Osos Community Park. Doors open at 4:30pm, the potluck and potluck jam band start at 5:00pm, and the performance is at 6:00pm.
About the Red Barn Community Music Series
The Red Barn Community Music Series is a monthly concert series showcasing local, regional and national musicians performing old time, bluegrass, swing, Celtic, blues and other forms of acoustic music. All proceeds go directly to the performers. Admission is $15.00 at the door; no advance seating or reservations. The Red Barn is located on the Los Osos Community Park at 2180 Palisades Ave., Los Osos. Doors open at 4:30pm, the potluck supper and potluck jam band start at 5:00pm, and the show begins at 6:00pm. BYOB, a dish to share and your own utensils for the potluck supper. These shows are made possible though the generous support and assistance of the entire Red Barn Community (aka Children of the Barn) and with support from the Los Osos / Baywood Park Chamber of Commerce.
