Morro Bay Lions Club is the local chapter of Lions Clubs International serving the communities of Morro Bay and Los Osos.
Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world with more than 1.35 million members in more than 46,000 clubs in 207 countries. Our motto is “We Serve” and we are best know for fighting blindness but we also feed the hungry, aid seniors and the disabled, care for the environment, provide emergency disaster relief and support youth programs.
Morro Bay Lions meet the 2nd and 4 Thursday of each month at 7 pm at the Morro Bay Vets’ Hall at 209 Surf St. in Morro Bay. We are a group of service minded men and women who are interested in helping those in need and improving our communities. Some of the activities we support include: eye screening in local elementary schools, eye care and glasses for local needy, eye surgeries and other eye care for low income families at the Lions Eye Clinic of Northern California, scholarships and band awards at MB High School, summer sports programs for youth with the MB Recreation and Parks Department , children with language and hearing disabilities at Camp Hapitok, care packages for US Marines, the Lions Family Center at the City of Hope, etc. In 2015 we coordinated the Special Olympics visit for the City of Morro Bay and helped the City with the 4th of July Celebration.
