Annual bird Festival in its 29th year. The festival's mission is to foster nature awareness, promote environmental conservation, encourage responsible ecotourism, and support the local economy. Thanks to its collaborative approach, growing popularity, dedicated volunteers, and focus on environmental and economic sustainability, the Morro Bay Bird Festival has become a key event in raising bird-focused ecological awareness and supporting sustainable tourism in the region. While the festival is based at the Morro Bay Community Center, its events span across San Luis Obispo County, including locations like the Baywood Inn and Sea Pines as well as the South Bay Community Center in Los Osos. The 2026 Festival expects to bring 1,200 registrants and a significant boost to the local economies. Seventy percent of our attendees live outside SLO county.
